May 10 - Chicken Raising Basics
Bring your questions as we tour our family farm and learn the basics of raising chickens for meat or eggs (or both!)

June 14 - Spinning Wool into Yarn
Join us as we learn to spin wool (sheep, alpaca, and angora rabbit) into yarn using a drop spindle or a spinning wheel.

July 12 - Sourdough Basics
Learn how to make different types of healthy, hearty, whole-grain sourdough bread. I'll also show you how to "catch" your own starter, and explain basic sourdough starter maintenance.

August 9 - Simple Fermentation
We'll make sauerkraut, yogurt, and naturally pickled cucumbers, and I'll explain why naturally fermented foods are so important for a healthy immune system and overall health.

September 13 - Cheesemaking Basics
In this class, we'll make a simple "base" hard cheese - which can then be made into cheddar, mozzarella, blue cheese, Camembert, feta, or Gouda (or eaten as is!) We'll also discuss natural cultures vs. freeze-dried packets, and kefir-making basics as well.

October 18 - Making Mozzarella
Join us as we make mozzarella cheese, from start to finish.

November 1 - Small-Batch Soap Making
Learn how to make a basic bar soap (cold-process) in your blender. We'll also cover making liquid soap (hot-process using a crock pot) and adding essential oils. Makes a great Christmas gift!
